Client Setup & Management
What happens if I add a team member?
When you add a team member (such as a VA or contractor), they will have access to client accounts according to the permissions you set. There will be no extra charge for team members whatsoever.
Can my clients edit their Roadmap or Careers?
Yes, you can go to your Settings > Components and then select the permissions you want to grant.
How do I archive a client?
Go to your client list and scroll to the row of the client you want to archive. At the right end of the row you will find a pause-looking button that says Archive Client on hover.
Resume & Documents
What should I do if I need to upload an updated Resume?
Approach 1:
Go to Resume section from left panel > Change Resume.
(You can even add multiple resumes if you want)
Approach 2:
Go to Documents > + Add Document > Resume type > Click Add Document > Actions [Set as Current Resume].
Will updating my resume re-analyze jobs already in my dashboard?
No, once jobs are loaded into your dashboard, they are not re-analyzed. Your updated resume will only affect future job recommendations and matches.
Jobs
Why did the job compatibility analysis not consider some skills present in the resume?
Shapeshifter uses advanced AI models to ensure the accuracy is high but such blips can happen sometimes.
You can fix this by using the 'Have these missing skills' option available in the Analysis tab of every job. With that, you can choose the missing skill or experience.
Once you save it, all future analyses will keep that in mind.
I cannot find the industry of my choice in the current options, so how can I add more industries?
The industries shown in the jobs module are mapped to the universal codes of the most top-level industries tracked by LinkedIn.
Any other industry outside of this (eg: crypto), will most likely fall into one of the top-level industries (Finance, Technology).
You can follow this guide to learn more about the industry codes and reach out to the support team if there's any industry that's not covered in our current options.
Why am I getting an error when pasting a job link
If you receive an error when trying to manually paste a job link into the tool, this is a known limitation.
We do not recommend pasting links directly because some URLs have security restrictions that prevent us from fetching the data.
The most reliable method is to navigate to the job page directly and use the Chrome Extension to capture it.
Why am I not seeing enough jobs added to my dashboard?
If you're seeing fewer job results in Shapeshifter compared to LinkedIn, there are two main reasons:
1. The Illusion of Many Jobs on LinkedIn
LinkedIn often shows jobs with similar keywords but different actual roles.
For example, searching "Business Analyst" might return "Salesforce Business Analyst," "Data Business Analyst," and other specialized roles that may not match your client's preferences.
Shapeshifter uses AI and your configured preferences to filter for truly relevant opportunities.
2. Too Many Filters Applied
If you have strict filters set, you may be excluding good opportunities. We recommend:
Use "Relevant" mode instead of "Exact" match
Select all industries to broaden your search
Check that your salary range is realistic for the market
Why is Shapeshifter showing jobs that are already expired?
Shapeshifter scans across the internet and our providers every 12-24 hours to find jobs. In some cases, the jobs may not be expired when we pulled them.
However, by the time a client opens the link, it may have been expired or closed randomly by the company itself.
Unfortunately, Shapeshifter does not get notified about this and hence cannot know if the job is still open or not. We rely on clients to report the jobs so that it can be flagged in the system.

Can I multiple locations to the job search?
This is enabled on a coach-by-coach basis. Please reach out to Shapeshifter team for more details.
Can I specific companies or job boards that I want Shapeshifter to track?
Not yet, but this is on the roadmap. Stay tuned for more updates
Networking
How does the tool find networking contacts for me?
The tool looks for three specific categories of people on LinkedIn:
Recruiters: It scans for all active recruiters.
Hiring Managers: It identifies managers who are actively hiring (even if not for your specific role).
Team Members: It uses AI to identify relevant team names and then finds people who likely work on those teams. This works best with larger companies where team structures are clearly defined.
Why am I getting no search results on LinkedIn for networking searches?
This generally happens for smaller companies as there are no official recruiters, they don't have LinkedIn hiring badge or their team names are not too defined.
Try broadening the search to beyond first and second degree connections if that's not the case already.
Finding the team member is the toughest because it's highly probabilistic, the tool leverages AI to find out someone from that team.
With networking recommendations, our main objective is not 100% accuracy but to approach from three different angles (recruiter, hiring manager and team member) and get you to potential people who can help you get to that first call, as quickly as possible.
Chrome Extension
Where does the Chrome extension work?
The Chrome Extension works on different websites depending on your task:
Job Tracking: LinkedIn, Indeed, popular Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), and most job boards with clear job data
Networking: LinkedIn only
Why can't I log into the Chrome extension?
The Chrome Extension syncs with your active Shapeshifter session. To log in properly:
First, log in to the Shapeshifter platform using your unique link and passcode
Open the Chrome Extension while on the platform page it will sync automatically
Navigate to LinkedIn or a job board and the extension should now be ready to use
Can I install the extension on Mozilla Firefox or Safari?
Unfortunately, we only support the extension on Chrome. The extension ecosystem for other browsers are not as advanced as Chrome and do not provide the capabilities we need.
Does the Chrome extension work on mobile?
Unfortunately, Chrome does not support any extension on mobile. We are planning to build a mobile app later in 2026 that should enhance mobile-based workflows when you're on-the-go.
My account got flagged by LinkedIn, is it because of Shapeshifter?
It cannot be due to Shapeshifter extension since doesn't really automate anything within the browser and hence cannot be flagged directly.
We just read the page content (which LinkedIn cannot know) and fetch the job/profile on the server side via third-party external scrapers, which LinkedIn cannot really tie back to your account.
Miscellaneous
Why am I having issues on Mozilla Firefox or Safari?
We have seen silly issues with page scroll, drag-and-drop, etc. due to bugs in browsers in Firefox, Safari, Edge, etc.
Our primary focus is to deliver high quality and fast experience on Chrome browser and Chrome extension only as they support ecosystem updates seamlessly.
If you're using any other browser, we request you to switch to Chrome browser for using Shapeshifter and related operations.
Why is my Custom Domain not working?
Generally, your domain registrar (GoDaddy, Namecheap, etc.) is where you need to update the DNS records for your custom domain.
However, landing page providers like Kajabi take ownership of the DNS records. This means that even if you purchased the domain on GoDaddy you will still have to go to your Kajabi DNS settings to add a new domain record.

How to pause custom targets for my clients during holidays?
If you want to pause notifications, you can do so my going to Notifications settings and disabling the triggers.
If you want to avoid ruining their weekly scores, then you'll need to go to each client and reset goals for that week (s).
Why am I not receiving notifications?
For email, default recipient of the coach notifications is the org owner. You can add more recipients from Settings > Notifications > Email notifications > Configure > Add Email Address.
For Slack, refer to this guide for all possible troubleshooting steps.
Does Shapeshifter work in other countries?
Yes, it works in all countries. The only issue we face sometimes is when the country itself doesnโt have a lot of jobs posted making it harder for us to show enough jobs (after AI analyses)
How can my clients stop receiving notifications after they have exited the program?
Archive those clients, follow this guide here.
