Client Setup & Management

Can My Clients Edit Their Own Roadmap?

Yes, you can go to your Settings > Components > Roadmap and then select the permissions you want to grant.

This ensures you maintain control over your clients' job search strategy and prevents uncoordinated changes.

Can Clients Add Multiple Career Paths?

Yes. You can help your clients add multiple career paths in their roadmap. This allows them to explore different opportunities and track applications across different roles.

How Do I Share Shapeshifter With My Clients?

Each client gets a unique link and passcode to access their personal dashboard. You can find this information in the client's profile and share it directly with them.

What Happens If I Add a Team Member?

When you add a team member (such as a VA or contractor), they will have access to client accounts according to the permissions you set. There will be no extra charge for team members whatsoever.

What Should I Do If I Need to Upload an Updated Resume?

If you or your client have an updated resume to upload:

  1. Navigate to Documents in the left panel

  2. Add a new document and select "Resume" as the type

  3. Upload the new file

  4. Click Actions > Set as Current Resume to make it active

Alternatively, go to the Resume section and click "Change Resume" to upload and activate in one step.

Setting a new resume as "Current" ensures future job matches are analyzed against the updated version.

Will Updating My Resume Re-Analyze Jobs Already in My Dashboard?

No. Once jobs are loaded into your dashboard, they are not re-analyzed. Your updated resume will only affect future job recommendations and matches.

Why Does Shapeshifter Show Fewer Jobs Than LinkedIn?

Shapeshifter deliberately shows fewer, more relevant jobs for two reasons:

Quality Filtering: LinkedIn's search often returns jobs with similar keywords but very different actual roles (e.g., "Product Manager" might return "Technical Product Manager," "Marketing Product Manager," etc.). Shapeshifter uses AI to match based on your actual preferences and career goals, not just keyword matching.

Your Filters: If you've applied strict filters—such as specific industries, "Exact" match mode, or narrow salary ranges—you may be excluding good opportunities. Try broadening your filters to see more results.

While technically possible in some cases, we do not recommend pasting job links directly. Many job board URLs have security restrictions that prevent data fetching, which can result in errors.

For best results, navigate to the job posting page and use the Chrome Extension to capture the job details automatically.

Where Does the Chrome Extension Work?

The Chrome Extension works on different websites depending on your task:

  • Job Tracking: LinkedIn, Indeed, popular Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), and most job boards with clear job data

  • Networking: LinkedIn only

Why Can't I Log Into the Chrome Extension?

The Chrome Extension syncs with your active Shapeshifter session. To log in properly:

  1. First, log in to the Shapeshifter platform using your unique link and passcode

  2. Open the Chrome Extension while on the platform page—it will sync automatically

  3. Navigate to LinkedIn or a job board and the extension should now be ready to use
